FEASIBILITY STUDY DELIVERY

Delivery of a commercially and technically focused feasibility study for and ASX listed company developing a new nation building cement and lime industry in PNG.

 THE BACKGROUND

A diversified mineral and energy company required Siecap to provide a multi-disciplined team to deliver a detailed feasibility study for a new vertically integrated cement and clinker project in Papua New Guinea including quarries, cement/clinker plant, power, port and support infrastructure. The client required Siecap to assemble a team deliver the study to help assess and ultimately demonstrate the robust investment case for the project.

HOW THE TEAM HELPED

Siecap provided a team to assist the client in the production of a comprehensive study, this approach included:

  •  Acted as client’s representative managing a team of subject matter experts (SME) including geology, mining, engineering, logistics, marketing, environmental, social and legal disciplines.

  • Managed and integrated all aspects of the study in accord with ‘blue chip’ capital investment study standards.

  • Undertook market testing for key study inputs including project CAPEX, OPEX, customers and offtake, marketing studies.

  • Conducted financial evaluation (DCF/NPV) to demonstrate and interrogate the commercial drivers of the project.

  • Facilitation of workshops, optionality and value engineering exercises to identify risk and optimise project value and returns.

RESULTS

  • Delivery of a commercially driven study to inform executive and Board level decision making

  • Clear articulation of key risks and opportunities together with actionable next steps for the project

  •  Provision of independent quantitative and qualitative outputs to assist next steps in project development pathwa

  • Ensured outputs were in compliance with ASX disclosure obligations and other reporting standards
