PROGRAMME & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Design, development and implementation of new organisation structure and performance metrics & standards

 THE BACKGROUND

Upon a strategic business review, one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of lubricants decided to exit a 15 year old joint venture agreement and to bring the supply chain and logistics operations back in house to take control of all aspects of the business

With the exit date set, the client developed a three staged approach to execute, including transition, optimisation and growth. The key mandate for the immediate transition phase was that there would be no impact on customer service

HOW THE TEAM HELPED

  • A new distribution business model was designed, leveraging remaining manufacturing infrastructure and 3rd party logistics providers distribution capability

  • The new distribution model was taken to market and a freight tendering process was conducted across 9 distinct freight packages

  • Siecap has been providing dedicated project management support, embedded in the client’s organisation across the transition and optimisation project phases

RESULTS

  • Design, development and implementation of new processes, policies and business rules

  • Design, development and implementation of new organisation structure and performance metrics & standards

  • Governance and execution of the successful transition
